How it started
It began in the 1970s, when Andreas Dodt bought a small house in La Hoya, above the Salinas de Janubio—back when Lanzarote was far less touristy and island life still revolved around fishing and everyday simplicity. The house was very basic at first. Over the years, it slowly became a proper home: windows were added, then a terrace, running water and electricity, and later a pool and garden.
In the 1990s, a second home followed: Villa Estefania in Playa Blanca. It, too, has been extended and updated over time. Today we rent out both houses with the same aim: calm, well-organised holidays in places that feel personal—never like a standard rental.
About Us
Especialanz is a small, family-run holiday rental business in Lanzarote. We rent out two peaceful, comfortably furnished homes—each with its own private pool—that have been in our family for decades and have been carefully looked after, extended and modernised over the years.
Our approach is simple: clean, reliable places to stay in special locations—and a holiday that feels genuinely relaxing.
