Casa Andrés

Casa Andrés is a peaceful finca in La Hoya (municipality of Yaiza), set above the Salinas de Janubio. The house sits on a large plot of around 5,000 m², with plenty of privacy and open views towards the sea and Lanzarote’s volcanic landscape. If you like being away from the busier resort areas and ending the day by the pool or on the terrace, you’ll feel at home here.

Inside, the house offers around 150 m² of living space (plus a generous terrace), with three bedrooms, a living area, a separate kitchen and two shower rooms. It’s set up for up to 4 adults + 2 children. The beds are different sizes (double, singles and bunk beds) — the layout is listed below under Other things to note.

Outside you’ll find a large pool (8 × 4 m) with a counter-current system, several terraces and sun-lounging areas, and garden space (partly planted, partly left natural). The pool is heated; comfortable temperatures are usually achievable, especially if the pool cover is used at night (full instructions are provided in the guest handbook).

Casa Andrés is intentionally quiet — a hire car is essential for groceries, beaches and day trips. The good news is that distances on Lanzarote are short: Yaiza, Playa Blanca and El Golfo are all within easy reach by car, and Timanfaya is nearby too.

• Accessibility: the house is not step-free; the entrance is reached via around 5 steps.
• Internet / Wi-Fi: Wi-Fi is available, but due to the location Casa Andrés is not connected to fibre and speeds can vary. For very data-heavy use or regular home working, we recommend Villa Estefania (200+ Mbps connection).
• Pool & safety: the pool area is not separately fenced. The main terrace can be closed off with two small gates. Please take the usual care around the pool, especially with children.
  

A rental car is essential. Casa Andrés is in a quiet rural setting rather than a tourist centre, and without a car day-to-day logistics (shopping, beaches, excursions) are not practical. With a car, supermarkets, restaurants, beaches and sights are all within easy driving distance — Lanzarote is generally very manageable in terms of travel times.

La Hoya is a tiny hamlet within the municipality of Yaiza, above the Salinas de Janubio. The salt flats are one of the island’s most distinctive sights: salt pans, lava, coastline and wide horizons — perfect for a walk and especially lovely around sunset. A restaurant at the mirador above the salt flats is just a few minutes away. The area around Casa Andrés is very quiet, with only a handful of neighbouring houses.

For restaurants, bigger supermarkets and beaches, most guests do a short drive to Yaiza, Playa Blanca or El Golfo.
